Is it more important for someone to be convicted of their sin or come to know the love of Jesus?

In a Sunday morning Bible study with the senior high, when talking about homosexuals, it would seem that most in the room figured it was more important for them to be convicted of their sin. Is that the right choice? What Scripture supports your thoughts?

Here is Jacob accepting his award for youth leadership at the Kiwanis Youth Leader Recognition Breakfast. He had to present a 2-3 minute speech about his experience and his faith journey. He was poised, humble and shared from the heart - all great leadership abilities! Congratulations on your achievement!

Camp Perkins Trip!

We had an AWESOME time out in Idaho and wish more of you could've joined us for the fun!

Everyone did Sailing Camp, where they got to learn how to sail sunfish boats. By the second day, they were already out on the water without a counselor. Here you can see Sarah and Aarica sailing!

One evening, the all camp activity was Mud Football! They also had the opportunity to swim or canoe, but most took part in this fun game!

Camp's rope swing is brand new! They had only had it for a couple weeks - not even the entire summer, but our week got to use it and had a blast!

Here you see the rock climbing wall as someone is nearing the very top. I believe it is about 30-40 feet tall and has 3 sides (easy, medium, and hard).

In the morning we had a lovely introduction provided by the counselors. They introduced the theme for the day before sending everyone to Bible study. We met a lot of interesting characters. During this skit, we met Hans, Thug Money, Robert Rooster, Mrs. Chuck Norris, and a rather ditzy gal. These skits were informative, but also absolutely hilarious!

And of course, every day was spent in God's Word, since that's why we were there. In everything that was done, the counselors are very intentional about talking about Christ.

These two pictures were taken just north of Camp Perkins at Red Fish Lake. On Friday, after camp, we had extra time to do some sightseeing!

On the ride home, Aarica, Sarah, and Paul got to have their picture in the cockpit.

It was an amazing trip and I hope that more of you can join us if we go again!

Serving Sawyer Servant Event!

In June, the senior high had the opportunity to attend a servant event at Camp Luther. We didn't spend much time there because we went to Sawyer, MI from there! We led a 3-day VBS, a youth night, and did landscaping projects for a church in an impoverished, abandoned air force base. It was an amazing experience and fun to watch the young men who attended grow so much! We joined together with groups from Ohio and Indiana. In the first picture, you can see all of the groups involved in the project!

We didn't just work - we also went to Lake Superior where we went swimming, visited a lighthouse after crawling over millions of rocks, and had our evening devotions in a gazebo while watching the sunset! It was awesome!

Pump It Up!

We are heading to Pump It Up in Oakdale next Wednesday, July 12th. Meet at church at 6:30 pm and we will return at 9:00 pm. Contact people are Robin Peterson and Emily Heine. Cost is $20/person. Invite all of your friends to join us!

Two conditions are that you must wear socks and parents need to sign a waiver.

Sally is traveling a LOT during July, mostly for church functions. She will be gone July 9-14 for the Senior High Servant Event at Camp Luther, July 19-26 for National Lutheran Youth Workers Conference in Orlando and Mary Kay Seminar in Dallas, and July 29-August 5 for the Junior High Youth going to Camp Perkins, ID. She will have limited email access during these times, but the office will have her cell phone number available.

Soccer Mania!

This Wednesday, the 21st from 7-9 pm, is SOCCER MANIA! Andrew B. helped me put together an awesome event for all of you...and you know soccer is more fun with a larger group so invite your friends! Even if they do not attend King of Kings, you can still invite them! I am so excited to get together with all of you to play soccer so come on by - we'd love to have ya!

Bring a snack to share and anything you want for overnight. You might not sleep, but you might want a sleeping bag to cuddle up in during the movie or something.

We will be playing games, watching a movie, doing devotions, and ordering pizza!

Thrivent is partnering with FMSC to do a special event on May 6 at both Concordia Academy campuses. King of Kings is participating, packaging food from 12-2 at CA, Roseville. We will meet at church at 11:45 am and walking over together. Please sign up on the youth room door or on the bulletin board in the narthex. We have a limited number of spots so sign up quickly! It's going to be awesome! It's always so much fun and we are able to help a lot of people in a short period of time. It's open to the entire congregation, but I STRONGLY encourage all youth to participate. Please join us!
