I think we have a tendency to over label as a means of simplifying the gargantuan amount of product we are bombarded with on a daily basis. It helps to categorize things but oversimplifications can destroy the deeper meaning. When we label something "Christian" we expect certain things from the product and the author. By taking off the label, the artist can allow the viewer to see the art for what it is without our presupposed ideas corrupting the deeper meaning.
